Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Folks,

Is there any online resource that will help you calculate the hours of sunshine on the different walls of a house at various times of the year?
    Thanks

    Google Earth does, I believe.

Download Google sketchup it is a drafting/Cad program.
It allows you to model the suns height/duration at different seasons by inputting your lat. long.

In my experience, mornings tend to be sunnier than afternoons, particularly in the spring.
Having a room that faces south east gets the morning & midday sun and will be cooler in the late afternoon.

after checking Google Earth for your location/orientation, then use sketchup for your shadow checker, head off to met.ie to read up on sunshine. http://www.met.ie/climate/sunshine.asp

Near the bottom it states "Irish skies are completely covered by cloud for well over fifty percent of the time." The other 50% is night time:D
