Plus, are we really getting into an atheist / christian idiot tit for tat spat? Even if our good friend Jade was an atheist, which she apparently isn't, I am sure we can come up with a few christian idiots.... Don't have too far to look. :pac::pac::D;):mad::o:eek::cool::confused:

Joyce - low grade porn masquerading as high class literature ....and good at neither.

MMMMM .......sort of reminds me of another controvercial writer

And why are you trying to dump Jade Goody back on us - I definately saw her saying she is atheist. She has all the self publicist traits of one.

Does not matter if she is an atheist or not, being an athiest does not automaticly mean you are intelligent. That's like you saying that believing in a god makes someone good.

    Wish Id thought of that:rolleyes:

Its a bit of banter on Jade Goody that goes back a bit as I compare Dawkins to a media whore just like JD. Its not a serious comment on her.

But just in case you think that atheists are brimming with the compassion thing think again

Wow, though crowd. No wonder you think Dawkins is a hack.

Suppose you think Citizen Kane is a below average movie and Pet Sounds is a pathetic Phil Spector knock off :pac:

Possibly, but she plays the persecuted victim routine like a true Christian :P

Entirely off topic, but I agree with CDfm about Joyce. When I get to heaven I am going to ask God to refund me the day and a half I wasted reading the unmitigated crap that is Ulysses.

I can't believe it keeps getting voted as being among the best literature ever. Have the voters actually read it? Or is it some kind of Emperor's New Clothes syndrome?

I took a run at it years ago and dropped it like a hot potato. Some excellent books are hard work* - but Ulysses ain't one of them.

    * Unlike (back on topic) The God Delusion - which is an easy read :D

Only if there's an audio version narrated by Charlton Heston. :)

If you think Joyce is overrated that says more about you than it does about James Joyce!!!

    :D:D:D

Now I get it he stared in Planet of the Apes. Good choice - but I think Arnie Swartzenager would be a class act for Ulysses.

Cant understand why Charles Bronson didnt do Waiting for Godot -do you?

Am I being too hard on Jade - after all she has apologised seen the error of her ways and gone to India to seek forgiveness.

I know its harsh -and it would be a learning experience- it doesnt take an eternity to read Ulysses -it just feels like it.
