Static NAT on netopia 3347 router

Can anyone please tell me if using Static NAT on the netopia routers is the same as DMZ. It appears to be the case when I google it.

My real question: If I set a static NAT to a PS3 (which is not always on), will that have any implications for my internet connection on any other PC connected. Will the IP address of the PS3 be the only thing on my network not secured by the firewall and the dynamic NAT.

Also, when I use static nat, will all other IP address units remain on dymanic NAT.

    Thanks

MODS: Can you please move this to Nets and Comms instead of broadband
