Problem with 98 Ford Focus speedometer

    hi there,

    the speedometer in my focus (1.4 hatchback - 1998) cuts out regularly. It works fine, then the needle goes to zero and then after a about 30 seconds or more, it comes back on.

    is this a common fault in the model? if so - will i have to get the dash replaced? what's the damage if i do?

    I have heard of this problem before on the MkI Focus. Your best bet is to google a Ford or Focus specific forum and ask for advice there.

    This is presently happeneing with my focus. Haven't got it checked yet.

    Common problem with the Focus, get the CHT sensor wiring looked at.
