    Hi,
am in need of a 24" monitor -as I have the loan of one at the minute.
Will be used for gaming, movies etc.

    So,
    Which one would you pick.
    Samsung 24" LCD Syncmaster 245B+ TCO-03 Black, 1920x1200, 5ms, 8000:1, DVI - link at 319e

    Samsung 24" LCD Syncmaster 2493HM, 1920x1200, 10000:1, 5ms, DVI/VGA/HDMI - link - at 379e

    Samsung 24" SM245B+ 2ms 1000:1 LCD TFT - link - at 379e

I'm leaning to the middle Samsung - but any other recommendations would be appreciated. Are tv's just as good - ref refesh rate, contrast etc

    Thx

    K

yup go with the middle, and try to find out what panel it has before ordering. As that model is made in 3 different panel types, the fn panel being the best and the others being a bit ****e.

    reply I got from Komplett.
    "Thank you for your enquiry.
Im afraid I cannot confirm wich panel this includes as we receive mixed batches from the Manufacturer."

    what about this pixmania bunch

Am I mad limiting myself to a Samsung - with the different panels that I could get.
Or are LG just as good.

    LG @ komplett - 370e
    Same at Pixmania - e299.

    hhhmmm.

Go for this one . Plus if you'll get 240HD model , it will have digital tv tuner build in , so you'll be able to use it as a HDTV as well.............

Yeah - the HD model is a little too expensive at the minute.

But the T240 is 349e at pixmania & 439e at Komplett.

Might go for the Sammy T240 so.

Good choice for the price ?

Dell indeed - too much choice - my head is going to explode.

This dell 24" for e340 incl shipping thru a work discount scheme.

anyone ever tried one of these ?

I got a BenQ G2400 from Elara a few weeks ago, it is excellent. Have a read on the HardOCP forums for some incredibly anal retentive discussions about the best TN monitors for gaming.

I went with the BenQ after a lot of reading there, after originally thinking about all of the Samsungs. It was also dirt cheap, €330! It also has 1:1 pixel mapping, HDMI, DVI and VGA.

I didn't see much advantage in the Samsungs or Dell. The BenQ is so good, I am considering a second one to run a dual display system now.

for a gaming and movie monitor look for the following:

1:1 pixel mapping (for "proper" 1080p)
Minimal input lag (higher end SIPS and PVA mainly suffer this, bad for FPS)
    Minimal G2G time.

    Thx pete for that.

After reading a few different forums, reviews etc it really is hard to decide.

It was down to the Samsung T240, Dell or the Benq (now 335 on komplett).

Samsung got a few bad reviews on Hardocp so may go away from that.
The dell has a few neg from reviews on the dell website.

So may go for the Benq - elara 365e -komplett 335e.
    Good reviews all round.

    Will let ye know later.
    Thx
