Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hows all ?? Just wandering if anyone out there has / had a triumph tiger 1050. Like the look of them but dont know what they are actually like. (finish, electrics etc.) All the reports one reads are all excellent but over here everyone I talk to hates Triumphs, saying they rust, leak oil, and dont start in the wet. I find this a bit hard to believe that modern bikes (ok, a few Chinese / Korean ones maybe ) still have these problems. Any one who has a bit of info, please give us shout back.

I had 2 triumphs ... the sprint st 1050 (which the tiger engine shares) and a daytona 675. I absolutely loved them. I'm on an r1 now. Great build quality, fantastic finish, look exotic for regular money.... everything abotu them i like.
    Except the residual values....
try finding a dealer other than bikeworld down south who will take one in as a trade in when you want to change...

Who on earth are you talking to!!! Must be a load of old farts, modern Triumphs aren't a bit like that... :)

This topic has come up before though, so you can read what other people have said already here:

 feckin' eejits talking about badly maintained brit bikes of 40-odd years ago. I suggest you stop hanging out with the "I used to have one of those" bull$hit artist crowd :) The modern Triumphs, after their rebirth in '91, are thoroughly modern, reliable and better built than many Jap bikes. I'm on my second (first written off by cager :( ) and would definitely buy another. You don't have to buy off Bikeworld, or get it serviced there, if you don't want to. Jack Lilley's are excellent for mail order spares. Basically get one, you will not regret it.

    Scrap the cap!
