You might want to try going to the tools tab on your internet browser,
    select internet options,
    select the connections tab,
    press the LAN settings tab,
and make sure Automatically detect settings is ticked,

    hope that helps!

Do you get a valid UCD IP Address after you plug in?

If you're not sure how to answer that, it would be better for you to talk to IT Services in person - because it would be very difficult to troubleshoot this remotely! 8)

Did you change the DNS server addresses for your wireless card? That can cause problems. You need to set it to obtain address automatically.

Your IP address should start with 137 in the UCD network if that helps

Are you a Quinn student? If so, talk to ILTG and they'll probably fix it in a few seconds. If not, go into Daedalus and they'll probably fix it in a few seconds. :)

Try typing the following in a command prompt:
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
(To get a command prompt: Start, Run, type 'cmd' and press enter.)

Your IP should start with 193. or 137.

If so, then try and get on to one of the internal web pages like UCD connect or www.ucd.ie.
