    anyone know if you can get it anywhere in ireland.
    i used to buy it of ebay but the shop closed..

    Didn't know it was a German thing too.

    I've had it in Belgium, Netherlands and Scandinavia and I miss it.
    I, too, would love to find salt licorice in Ireland!!

    Not German but it's the Finnish version (salmiakki).

    If you want to buy it in a shop I think you may be out of luck. As a Finn living in Ireland for the past 13 years I've found it impossible to source! I rely on relatives bringing it over. Once a year, around Christmas time, the Irish Finnish society organises a huge sale of Finnish goods. You can pick up sweets and other groceries and Christmas decorations. They're always hugely popular though so get there early before everything is gone.

    The have double salted liquorice in holland, always nice to surprise people with :D

    Salmiak in holland is differetn to salted liquorice, I used to (still do if i can get them) love these Heksehyl
