I have just returned from a brilliant week there. Places I visited were:

Venice: Highlight of the holiday. St Mark's Basilicia was magnificent. The Dolce palace was also very good.

Padua: Visited the Basilica of Saint Anthony. It was awesome.

Vicense: Only real letdown. We visited one church, The church of Santa Croche, which has one of the thorns from Jesus' crown of thorns. The main Duomo was supposed to open after lunch at 3:30, but this did not happen.

We stayed in the town of Treviso, near the railway, which was a perfect base for visiting the above mentioned place. The town itself is lovely, with buildings and churches from the medieva/Renaissance eras. :-)
