Looking for a good price on a Xbox 360, my old one has the 'Ring of Death' and after doing the towel trick it's back again.

Its free return to MS if that happens. 3 years warranty.

But if you want to fix it yourself (eg. if you bought xbox360 second hand) - I have a fix-it kit for RROD you can buy off me at cost 10 Euros.
It replaces the dodgy clamp that holds the heatsink on the cpu & graphics chip that causes this fail.

I bought two but only used one on my xbox - it fixed mine

Dont buy a new one.

Loads of them on ebay.
All it is, is a few washers, screws and some thermal paste.

Are those repair kits "eejit proof"?

As in could anyone without the slightest bit of electrical repair knowledge get away with it?
