Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Public Liability Insurance

This sounds like it's waaaay off-topic but bear with me.

I entered a team in a nightowls competition and the organisers want €250 per team for "Public Liability Insurance"

They want this on top of frankly ridiculous match fees.

Surely they are obliged by law to have this any way and we should expect that to be included in the rental price. If we book the pitch for a friendly they don't ask for extra but when there is a league involved they stump up the price and ask for extras.

Another team requested to see the policy but It was never produced, so they didn't pay it.

Does anyone here have any idea on where we stand?

If we refuse to pay, we could potentially risk losing our place, but im damned if Im paying for some makey upy insurance.

If its a competition fee, call it that. If its not, f off and stop being so effin greedy.

Join the astro.ie leagues instead, tbh. They don't insist on insurance, but do recommend that teams take out their own.

I know that ALL teams that play on grass are required by the leagues to take out public liability insurance, so it's not that unusual.
