Video conversion for N95 8g

I would like to convert some movies from.avi to ??? so as to transfer onto my phone -I know that the Nokia Video manager converts them as it goes, but I want to do some in advance to just transfer over. Jet Audio will do it, but what is the best format I should use? MP4?? Thanks!

Just install DivX mobile on your phone:

http://www.divx.com/mobile

& then you won't need to convert them from .avi, just copy them straight to your phone.
