This year people from around the world including Kells in County Meath, will perform yoga poses in honor of World Peace Day on Saturday September 20th.
On September 21-23, the Global Mala Project, will implement events throughout the world in honor of the United Nations International Day of Peace.
In 2001 the UN International Day of Peace was established, an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence. In 2007, over 100 million people were active on Peace Day, in 192 countries. People can log onto the Peace One Day website (peaceoneday.org) to make their peace pledge. Commitments range from baking cookies for neighbors, hosting a rally for 10,000 people to saving the world.
For more information about this world wide project please visit www.globalmala.org.
If you like to be part of World Peace day and take a free yoga class, contact Nathalie who is the Globalmala coördinator in Kells. Class will take place on Saturday September 20th from 10-11.30 a.m. in the Christian Brothers, Bective Street, Kells.
