("Extinct" being bands[or artists] that have broken up, or where key members are dead/in a different band.)

    My top 5 would be:

    The Beatles

    Nirvana

    The Stranglers (with Hugh Cornwall)

    Joy Division

    Guns and Roses

I'm hoping David Byrne's gig in the National Concert Hall will make up for the fact the reunion probably ain't ever going to happen!

What is with people thinking Joy Division are great?! I'm at a loss as to why. I can't stand them.

Anyway, I would love to say Sound Garden, Kyuss etc. but the truth is all those bands would be **** nowadays, as Chris Cornell cannot sing any more (thanks for the latest paperweight solo album Chris!) and the original Kyuss lineup have changed their individual sound for the most part.

I would say any of the great (dead) blues bands/musicians would make me happy. I'd love to meet John Lee Hooker/SRV/Rory and watch him/them play. The list goes on.
