Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Leave the muppets to fawn over the England captain and the likes in all the other threads on here.

    Any sign of the teamsheet?

They all put money on Rovers finding their level this season after last year's over-achievement; Paddy Power has decided to pay out before the season's end.

There's a couple of people on here that like to make things up to suit them. SectionF and the Sunderland thing for example. The Irish are no different to any other nationality in the world with our interest in Sunderland and he knows that.
Where'd that come from? What Sunderland thing did I 'make up' and what's it got to do with Pat's?

Shrewd. I had the same bet myself.

Ask the guy who changed the subject. :) It came from the fact that you commented on Sunderland today again and it's what yourself and Des have in common, stubborness. I said to you many times that the any nation in the world would understand the interest we have in Sunderland in this country. I could give you a hundred examples but since I was reading this today:
"I watched the game between United and Celtic at Old Trafford a couple of years ago. Everyone in Denmark was keen to watch as Thomas Gravesen had just signed for Celtic and he was playing one of his first matches" - Thomas Augustinussen, Aalborg.

Yet you're still fasinated by this interest we have in Sunderland. Roy Keane. End of.

Anyway, as you say, Pats are playing in half an hour. A night of football to look forward to.

Okay points made. Sunderland bla bla bla. Its okay to like Sunderland, its okay to be a little upset that some like them even more so then any irish club. Lets end it here yeah?

    Pats 4 - 0 Hertha Berlin :D

Is this on telly or os there a stream anywhere?

I think Pat's have a decent chance here (Hertha obviously favourites). I saw Hertha play in the UEFA cup (about 3 years ago) and I remember thinking that the standard was about good LOI. Apart from one section of germanmaddourovvits the (cool) stadium is pretty much empty most of the time. I'd say Pat's will be up for it more than the Germans.

    Still 0-0?

Can't get any streams or radio in work :(

still 0-0 at 18mins, only just switched on but i seems the goalkeepers had to make a few very good saves already. Pat's seem to be living dangerously, they've failed at implementing the offside trap at least once and but for some hesitancy they'd be down.

half time still 0-0. fair play to them, a few shaky moments in defence but overall they are doing very well. made Hertha look a bit nervous at times too.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,300 ✭✭✭CiaranC

Superb first half perfomance. Keith Fahy is immense, head and shoulders the best player on the park.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,013 ✭✭✭✭eirebhoy

I think I counted 1 shot on target so far, for Hertha. Pats are getting better and better as the game goes on and dominated possession in the last 5 minutes. Keith Fahey looks the best and most classy player on the pitch. Dempsey is playing really well too.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41,926 ✭✭✭✭_blank_

SPA were the best side for the last fifteen minutes or so, they're too nervous in the last third though, probably scared of opening up too much.

Berlin have absolutely no width though, and the SPA CBs and CMs are doing well.

Will probably stay 0-0, or Berlin will nick one if SPA try to go for it.

They won't though, and taking 0-0 back to Dublin is respectable enough.

+1. Need another 45 at the same level, Heartha look disjointed as a team imo. Great 1st half. Same again and then who knows in rainy Dublin.

They're very scared to committ players.

Hopefully push on a few players and try get an away goal.

It will be disappointing to lose this because Pats are capable of nicking a win here.

Hertha have brought on fast dangerous subs but hopefully Pats can get a 1 1 draw :o

Awful goal to give away after playing so well in first half

Lad on back post with awful clearence of first ball
both coming off the posts way too early after clearing the second ball, trying to push out when ball not fully cleared yet

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,983 ✭✭✭leninbenjamin

aye, they just lost their heads for a little there. it was bound to happen though. Hertha have settled back a bit though now, if Pat's up the ante a little they might be able to get one back.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 909 ✭✭✭Gareth37

Good subsitution, the Hertha full back won't know what hit him with Ryan turning him inside out :D

It the kinda goal that has crept into pro football in the last 5-10 years
no reason to give it away, its all about coaches wanting to clear the lines

Meh, he won't be able to look at Ryan's ugly face is what you mean. he'll be running away.

2-0 Hertha, a real shame, Pats are playing some very good football. Shame they couldn't have taken their chances.

Now lets all get out to the RDS next Tuesday to get the place hopping.

This team deserves a big crowd and an even bigger atmosphere.

The 2nd leg is live on RTE 2 but lets all get out and get our friends out to support this team.
