Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Problem deploying printers using Group Policy.

    Hi,
Can anybody tell me whether there's a way of getting printers, connected by USB to a PC to be deployed by Group Policy? They appear to be deployed to client PCs with a Virtual USB port, which subsequently fails to connect, showing the printers as offline.

I'm trying to have printers appear to users based on the location of the computer they are using at the time, using Windows 2003 x64 R2 Group policy. Clients are running XP Pro SP3.

But for printers connected by USB to a desktop, and shared, the users see the printers as being offline.

I've assigned the computers into security groups based on their location, created a group policy for each location and used the printer manager tool to deploy the printers.

I've added the x86 version of the pushprinterconnections.exe to be run by all client computers at machine startup using group policy. This is meant to allow the printer installation without admin privileges.

The printers can be connected, installed and used using the old method,
    rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /in /q "/n\\pc12\HPLaserJ"

so it's probably not the network or that drivers aren't on the PC.

    Thanks.
