Guys what download manager do you use for downloading form Rapidshare etc? Currently I'm using "Internet Download Manager" - its ok but I'm wondering if there are better out there. I use "FlashGot" to grab links but needs somehting better to manager downloads.

Ideally I'd like one that can limit the speed of the download so you can still browse the web while downloading without it slowing down.

    Any suggestions?
    Cheers

I use flashget myself, fully compatable with flashgot extension and freeware, just make sure you login to server with links using your rapidshare login details

    Yeah, me too.

Is part of the browser and doesn't have any unnecessary fluff.

Only problem is adding a list of plain text links, like
    link1
    link2
    link3
    link4

I had to write a little page with some JavaScript which takes a list of plain text links and converts them into embeded links which downthemall understands better

Same here. Have tried many others but only IDM is the one that brings me the fastest and consistent speeds as I download.

IDM provides a way to limit or increase speeds. It can be found by selecting "Downloads" on its taskbar, scrolling down then selecting "Speed Limiter" - or "Options" and selecting then tab "Connection" to change other settings too.

+2 for Flashget. Also, you can import lists from .txt files, which is dead handy for blue-ray ;)

+3 for flashget, load up the links and forget about it. you can set how many concurrent downloads you want so you can still browse away ok.

I use orbit download manager. you can set limits so it doesn't use all your bandwidth.

    +4 for flashget

It always maxes out my connection nicely (2MB/s downloads:D), but can easily be restricted if needs be as well.
