Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can anybody advise me as to the tax treatment of dividend income from shares held.
    Is the income taxable ?
Is there a threshold, under which, you dont pay tax ?
Which tax category does dividend income come under ?

Mods sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

If it's Irish shares the dividend withholding tax is probably already taking off at source. You should get a voucher indicating this.

As far as the dividend you receive is concerned it's considered income so if you pay income tax then may owe tax on the dividend.

If you are a lower rate tax payer then I think you have no further liability. If you pay tax at the higher rate then you owe an additional 21%.

You should complete a form 12 to declare additional income. Available on revenue.ie
