Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Villiareal at 9/2 on Paddy Power is a very tempting price considering the United team selection.

Villareal are fielding basically a 2nd string side too, neither of their first choice strikers, no Ibagaza, no Cazorla and no Senna. Villareal wont win.

A bright enough start. The width of two natural wingers is certainly helping.
    Ferdinand should ahve scored there.

So do we have a new "holy trinity" in nani, fletch and park??? nah i dont think so.

    lovely move there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,640 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

nani has put in some dangerous crosses to bad berba isnt there

should have had two penalties for tackles on park.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

    Stone wall penalty ffs!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,283 ✭✭✭Smegball

Nevilles been awful and to think loads of people (myself included ) criticised Brown and was longing for Nevilles return solely for his delivery is looking silly so far this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 749 ✭✭✭niallk

I think the first one was more of a penalty. That last one Park had played the ball out and then went down. For once Tevez isn't our sharpest player. Fletcher is having another impressive game, I'd take him over Carrick any day TBH.

should've been 2 pennos for me.... park, hargo and nani playing well...
wont write neville off he just needs games under his belt....

lets hope we can pick it up in the second half and put a couple in the net...

Two penno's? Are you stark raving mad?
The first one might have been, but you never get penno's for a foul in that part of the box.
The second one he lost control of the ball took the contact and gave a good impression of an Olympic diver.
Neville is brutal, he has wasted a lot of good ball out there.
Edit to add, they should be at least 2 up at this stage if there was any finisher. I think you will see Berbatov at some stage.

That'd be hard considering he's not even on the bench :p

So far OH has he well minded. Overall not too bad. I Bit more creativity from the midfield needed. Get Rooney a chance and he'll finish them.

not gonna argue with u but:
"Two penno's? Are you stark raving mad?

a ridiculous statement, a foul in any part of the box is a penalty....
"The second one he lost control of the ball took the contact and gave a good impression of an Olympic diver."
defender got nothing on the ball after sliding in and clipped park, a foul = penalty.. park went down a bit easily but he didnt dive there was contact with the defender
"Neville is brutal, he has wasted a lot of good ball out there."
i agree but he'll get better i think
"I think you will see Berbatov at some stage"
just sums it up for me...he's not even in the squad..are we watching same game?

Gasp! That was a close call. Ferdinand wasn't exactly labouring to block the cross. Come on Ronalderson.

Beautiful play from Villareal there. Would have been an incredible goal! They are playing some lovely football when they get it.

Great build up play and passing, unfortunately, when at OT, you need to take the chances you get.

Yeah, brilliant, when was the last time you seen a penalty given to a player making his way out of the corner of the box. Get real
I did not say he did not make contact with Park, but he lost control of the ball before it, and he put his two arms out like an Olympic diver to make the most of it.
I replied to the first person that said that and admitted I forgot that. So what I was watching the game not the bench.

He talks nothing but utter ****e

United seem to get in the box a lot, but Villarreal seem to be putting up a good defense.

I loved when he said "With the angles of the posts these days, they usually go in" as if the laws of physics have changed since he retired.

Villareal not really ones to involve themselves in back post marking are they?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,403 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

I know it is coming at him at pace - but Evans just has to hit the target there doesn't he?

Nani lucky there I thought he threw an elbow.

There's some clown in the Villareal midfield who constantly gives the ball away with casual passes. Really infuriates me. reminds me of a lot of "footballers"

United should have won, but the defense was pretty good.
