    Hi all

Can anyone explain the whole remapping thing and if its damaging to the car?

I've a 330ci Clubsport and am looking at getting it done, what will the effect be on the cars driving/handling and will the wear and tear be greatly increased?

    any advice appreciated,

    thanks

An ECU remap won't damage your car. It's a change in the factory settings/parameters which results in increased Bhp and torque.

    Some info: http://www.chippedire.com/technical.php

There's loads of info on the interweb, try searching 'remap' in motors for some more discussion for a start :)

You won't get the gains in a non-turbo'd petrol car to warrant the cost (probably > €400) imho. Far better benefits are to be had with a tdi car than a non-turbo'd petrol one.

Consider upgrading your exaust system perhaps?

handling wont be affected mate, its a change in the ecu settings as said above, yo will get better milage out of the car and it will be quicker off the mark too.

you won't get any gains in remapping that car, maybe 15bhp,i got similar gains from a similar sized engine with a stainless steel milltek exhaust and a decent panel filter.
