Thats because the channles that are not Free To Air are scrambled. Sky Sports and Movies are premium subscription channels and obviously not FTA. Flim4 however is FTA.

A free to air (FTA) receiver will not display encrypted (scrambled) channels on your screen.
The blank channels may not be broadcasting at the time or may have changed frequency (e.g. the Channel 4 group of channels which changed frequencies recently)
At the time of manufacture of the receiver it was preloaded with the frequencies in use and the channels broadcasting but these do change.

I'm assuming your dish is pointing at Eurobird 1 & Astra 2A/2B/2C/2D at 28.2°E.
For a list of FTA channels and frequencies go to http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html.
For a list of FTA and encrypted channels and frequencies go to http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.2E.php and http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.5E.php

    They are not FTA.
With a dish you require a Sky box and subscription.
Can also be received by UPC cable or MMDS subscription.
