Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Who's your worst nightmare?

In light of what good ol Titus did at the weekend I thought I'd get this question going. What player would be your worst nightmare from past and present playing for your club?

For me, it was Djimi. Hands down, I couldn't watch Liverpool games sometimes because I was afraid of what he'd do next. It was a frightening for me really like....

So from your Stuart Ripleys to your Paul McShane's. Who is your nightmare!?

Being a Toon fans, then that would be Titus. Honorable mentions go to Stephen Carr, Andreas Anderson, and Nikos Dabizas.

TBH, Shola would be top of that list but for the fact that we still haven't shifted him.

Voronin did play well last night, although he almost hit a corner flag with one shot (ah, the nostalgia)

I genuinely believe that Voronin would be decent in the LOI

This is no word of a lie Charlie, my mate has a jersey with Titus on the back as a piss take even though he is a huge Toon fan lol. Was so funny going to game's and the Geordies just looking in disgust but laughing at the same time. Christ, he hates Shola too. I get a good laugh at how stupid a player he is :p

All up there as well, but if I was to reel off every perennial dross player, this thread would approach off topic thread size.

if i was a Rangers fan i would say Marvin Andrews

if i was a Celtic fan i would say Bobo Balde

With Ireland we currently have Paul McShane and in the past Alan Kernaghan

all these players were capable of howlers at any given time.

    Honourable mention to Boumsong.

the jimi would get an honourable mention, ? carter that kenny bought from arsnel would be up there even phill (ouch my nuts) babb but over the years gary abblett gets my vote brill for 89 min could cost you two goals in that 1 min of madness what a tosser of a player, managed to score for us against manu on his debut though. The one good bit of business that souness did was to sell him for 1mil to the bluenoses which would be the equiv. of about 7 million in todays market.

Ripley was at one stage the best winger in the league, and probably the best crosser, a real old school winger - who got to the byline and whipped in crosses.

Presently (as in as of recent weeks since the Newcastle game) its Edwin van der Saar but he's normally been very reliable. Gary Neville will worry me until I see that he's still got it.

Past gems include: Paul Parker, Laurent Blanc, Mikael Silvestre, John O'Shea at centre back, Wes Brown before 05, Massimo Taibi.....

And I agree with zAbbo, Stuart Ripley was class. Him on the right and Wilcox on the left was lethal for Blackburn. That's why the SAS scored so many.

I dont get as worried about midfielders as if they fcuk up someone can clean up. Laurent Blanc fcuked up every game when he was with us and it became contagious!

    Remember this:

    Bolton
    Liverpool
    Arsenal
    Newcastle
    Chelsea

Yea, to be fair to him he was industrious and got up and down well but he could be carved open on occassions.

Thankfully we had the GOAT goalkeeper behind him!

True enough. He (DD) just seemed like one of those players though that if you saw he was named in the starting lineup, you felt a frustrating and unproductive day was ahead, ala Shola Ameobi

    Liverpool

    Salif Diao
    El Hadji Diouf
    Bruno Cheyrou
    Djimi Tarore
    Sean Dundee
    Bjorn Tore Kvarme
    Eric Mjier

    The list could go on....

    Rebrov @ Tottenham

    Balaban (spelling??) @ Villa

Going back a few years - Picnic @ Liverpool - he was god awful

Boogers @ West Ham - he went off hiding in a caravan or something, cost a fair few quid back then

I remember Ade Akinbyi - cant remember club but he was shocking :o

Poor old Titus is by far the biggest nightmare though - imagine him and Boumsong as your centre backs - who'd be a Newcastle fan :D

    Which one? :D

For all the crap he did at Shels, he's a sound enough bloke.

For Shels, my definite nomination for this, is the money grabbing, life sucking Alan Moore.

Granted, he used to be one of our best in the European games, what, six of them? But fúck me was he shíte in the league games. Glory hunting so and so. And I wouldn't even mind, shíte players are just shíte players, but that fecker was a decent player who just didn't give a shiney shíte about Shelbourne.

To top it all off, his behaviour after we went down the swanny was reprehensible.

    I hate him.

I think he was better than Taibi and Mark Bosnich who both were horrific for United.

Always Silvestre for me. lad would be going great for an hour or so, just long enough to get yer hopes up and then bang, some gob****ted back pass or wander away from his man Clouseau moment and yer 1 nil down. Hed even go and get a few decent performances together but you always knew it was going to come. Hell cost Arsenal 5 goals this season wait till ye see (more likely that Wenger will turn him into the French Barsi though)

Nutsy is a superb manager who is entitled to spend as much as the board will let him spend, to win what he wants to win. Financial prudence is not his brief. You should know that.

And he got rid of Turner.
