Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Was that you with the guitar and the harmonica??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

There were no guitars or harmonicae as far as I saw...

Anyway, good fun it was, got to put some faces to names and all that jazz, and I got some free crisps (dinner).

You missed out, there was fun AND frolics. Not often you get such a combination.

Do I get banned too because I agree with him.
    I felt old.
Wait, didn't we discuss this and came to the conclusion that it was the first college event this year that we didn't feel old at?

*Points at Apex and Myth* For shame, for shame. I even managed to drag my ass into despite being in A and E that morning.

    That would explain the bandage.
What happened exactly? Meant to ask you last night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,024 ✭✭✭Awayindahils

Oi Ape, I went at the end of a hangover. For shame.

Apologies all for ducking out before Doyles. I did get an amazing amount of sleep.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,163 ✭✭✭✭Boston

Sever case of being a man. Cut myself shaving, somehow managed to get infected, ignored it, lymph node on the side of my neck starts reacting badly resulting in trip to A and E and a course of antibiotics. Went back today and they said it was all going grand. Seems a night of boozing it up didn't have too much of an effect.

The contestants for most dedicated boardsie have now been narrowed down to just 3, seeing as how ApeX was too sick to walk from front square to the pav to say hi.

Being in Doyles and being 1) sober and 2) unable to chat up wimmin was a new experience for me. I kinda liked it. Makes me feel reliable and responsible, rather than hungover and ashamed of myself, which is how I would usually feel at this point in the morning following a night out in Doyles.

    So. Jealous.

Heh. I was gonna make some joke about you cutting yourself shaving, but I decided against as I had no idea what the bandage was for and could possibly have offended.

I hope one of those 3 is me.

I probably should have gone to Doyle's instead of a hypnotist show (though in fairness he was funny)

Yes. I'm certain I can ban my way to an Irish-speaking, Anarcho-Socialist Ireland.

+1 on the "Nice to put faces to posts" sentiments. And sorry I had to leave so early, but for what it's worth the Frisbee social was brilliant craic. We also ended up in Doyles, sometime around 11 - surprised I didn't see any of you in there! Of course, by that point in the evening I wasn't seeing much of anything, but it's still kinda strange. I vote for more boards beers in the not-too-distant future.

Boston, if you get a phonecall a week from now, don't answer.

I had some fun. I was terribly late, and I spent so long catching up with old friends and trying not to stand too close to ibid that I didn't get to meet too many new people.

Were there any great shinanigans after I dragged my sober ass homeward?

And yes, the TCD Three (aliteration!) are b.ie moisturiser, Hils and Ronny. I suggest jager shots at the next beers to determine the wiener.

It was great to finally put faces to the (user)names, although slightly odd.

Sorry I was only there for a few minutes. It was the Athletics Club Social Night as well so I was in at that and I meant to get back out to the Boardsies but time got the better of me. Maybe the next night. I got to meet some of you anyway which was the main thing.

You can just use filezilla if you arent a terminal man.

You also have to run the web accept yokey too..

    Netsoc username actually?

    Would
    scp ~/Pictures/drunkenness.jpg bazza@login.netsoc.tcd.ie:~/boardsPicsFolder

not work? Then you could link us to netsoc.tcd.ie/~bazza/boardsPicsFolder/drunkenness.jpg ?
Assuming you're on a linux box..
And asuming you have permissions on boardsPicsFolder set up right...
I'm not making this sound as easy as I expected.. :)

I love using terminal, I just don't know how to use it on the Netsoc PuTTY thing.
I'm in halls, so I'm not sure if normal ftp would even work..

If you can ssh to netsoc from halls, then you should be able to connect to netsoc with filezilla.

Netsoc dont support ftp, only ftp over ssh. You will need to run puttygen to generate a key first if you dont already have one.

Then just login to matrix as using filezilla.
