    Hi There,
Can anyone recommend a good independent Mechanic who has experience with Automatics? I have an automatic at the moment that seems to be on a go slow when it's taking off and it occasionally sounds like a dishwasher. I personally believe that the car may be low on automatic fluid so I am trying to find someone who can change the automatic gearbox filter and fluid without me having to take out a second mortgage on the house.

Oh I’m in Kildare so Dublin South side would be preferable if I have to take the motor to the city.

    Thanks

Any moderately competent mechanic will be able to do a fluid and filter change on an automatic, unless it's something pretty exotic.
    What's it in?
I'll leave it to others to recommend particular mechanics, I wouldn't know any in your neck of the woods.

If you want it repaired, I've had auto boxes rebuilt by this guy-

Tom McManus is his name, and he'll work on pretty much anything.

I passed an auto box specialist the other day under one of the railways bridges around Croke park. Havent a clue of the name or anything just read the stuff about automatics.

I personally believe that the car may be low on automatic fluid...
Check the fluid level and top up if necessary before driving further!

Read your owner's handbook for instructions on how to check - the engine may have to be running (and at operating temperature) to get a correct reading.

    Not your ornery onager
