Anyone every used one of these ?
My father bought a Bora just about to go out of the manufacture 3yr warranty.
He'd like to change the oil himself..etc
I was thinking about picking up a VAG cable & software for him.
    IF they're any good ?

    TIA,
    HD

I have the full vag-com setup with a genuine ross tech cable, it's very handy but I like fiddling with my car.
It's an expensive piece of kit for the amount of use you might get out of it.

The ebay cables won't allow you to use the latest software and the functions are limited with them.

This is the one I have.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
I wasn't aware you could reset the service light, without them.
My father doesn't want to have to return to a VW dealer,
and pay a premium everytime he wants to change the oil.

I was gonna go with an ebay cable/software, but it seems it's not much use.

    Thanks again,
    HD

Did you have any bother with customs when you imported it? Been thinking about getting a cable myself for a while

I had it delivered to a US address and a friend brought it back to Ireland so didn't go through customs.

I'll prob get shot down by the do-gooders for this

    press trip in AND HOLD

    still holding turn key off

then back on to lights on

    release then turn to right

and hold intil you see SERVICE in screen ~(approx 5 secs)
