Hi 1st post here and all that.
I'm thinking of buying a new Audi A3 up the north. UK cost is £20,000 which is roughly €26,000. Including for approx €7,000 VRT (ROS website says only €5,100 but including for extras) that would be a saving of roughly €4,000 over the same spec model from here!!
My question is regarding the vat. I know I'd have to pay the 21% Irish vat but what about the 17% UK vat. Audi Belfast say I have to have a VAT number before they can sell it without adding this to the price.
Has anyone any experience of this or how do I claim the UK vat back?
    Cheers
