Been living here nearly 2 years now and want to learn a bit more about the area.Seems to have such a history to it,between the older architecture on the main street and surrounding, the canals and its bridges, and all the rest that goes along with it.

And for some reason i'd love to know how Pacelli rd got its name.It should be the name of an Italian Take-away!

Googled a bit but not much info.Would Naas library be the best bet?

    Cheers

Yeah try the library, or the book shop in the local history section, few books on naas there.

Naas has a local history group that might also be useful

Hi Paddy, Sarto Road is called after The Italian Pope Pope Pius 10th. That was his surname. Pacelli is the Italian Surname of Pope Pius 12th. Both estates were built in 1950s.
