Watermarking avi files

Can anybody recommend any free software (or any non-free software if there isn't any free stuff) that I can use to add watermarks to avi video files? (by watermark I really mean just a bit of text at the bottom to identify I recorded it). I've got a PC and a Mac so any platform will do.

video spin by Pinnical can do it and it is free.
