I know the bank machines up here (Sligo) don't give out €10's either so I'd say it's a nationwide thing.

I've gotten a tenner out once or twice in Waterford. Most other times, it's been out though.

Is no problem getting them out in Dublin or Cork

    Obviously Dublin isn't effected...

    Recession?

If it was related to the recession there'd be a coin box fitted into ATMS.

I'd like to withraw the 4.87 from my account please. I fancy a pint.

Given the current uncertainty in relation to the banks you could end up getting an IOU out of an ATM instead of cash.

Maybe I am going mad, but I think I heard that in the UK they are going to trial ATm's that give out some coins.....

Well here in Vienna some banks have machines that change money from notes to coins and others that change coins to notes. Great for businesses who need change late at night. All customers of that bank can use them. They are located in the lobby
