    hi
i drive a ford fiesta classic 96. It was idling at under 500 rpm and kept cutting out when stopping. I disconnected the battery and now it idles at just under 1000rpm and doesnt cut out. But sometimes when im going down a hill and i have no need to press accelerator as im in a town and would go into car in front if i did the battery warning light comes on as if the battery isnt charging and the revs go real low and i feel it is going to cut out so i accelerate. Is this normal? Also i think that the temporary solution to the low idling speed is just that, temporary and i dont want to have to keep disconnecting the battery. Any advice appreciated? thanks

are the battery terminals rusted or insecure?
