Did anyone see ITT last night. Cherie let slip that the Waltz is her favourite dance, i still think she has had formal dance training before Strictly.

Darren Bennett said something interesting on Heather, he said he would love to see her dance on sat night the way she can dance in rehearsals. She has never danced as well live as as she as had in training. I would love to see her dance to her best, would put another cat amongst the pigeons - and you can never have enough cats :pac::pac::pac:

She has defo had some training.......and i have 6 cats!!

You guys love your conspiracy theories dont u lol. I reckon she had some training as part of her acting career/training but I reckon it was so long ago that it prob doesn't count. I also reckon she could be an "amateur" dancer in that she dances at formal do's etc.

I have a friend who has the bad taste to have her birthday on a Saturday and worse than that to celebrate it on the day!! I'll be watching tomorrow's episode on catch up soooooo my prediction is John and Heather in the dance off. If John is there he's gone, if he's not I reckon Heather will have danced her last dance.

When you watch tomorrow night think of poor old me desperate to watch it but being the dutiful friend!!

Cherie may have had a little dance experience in the past, but I think it's more a case of being naturally gifted. And come on, she's 56 for cryin' out loud... give her a break! :)

If all the celebs were rubbish from the beginning the show wouldn't be very good so you do need a couple of decent celebs at the star. Not so sure now Cherie'll win. If john stays out of the dance off anything is possible!

I just don't like her and she isn't growing on me. i went out today and made a cup of tea while her dance was on :confused::confused: I am a dance fanatic & i leave the room.

Am beginning to dislike lisa snowdon also. Rachel, austin or tom to win at the moment. and i still want Heather to nail a dance before she is eliminated.

i am going to see can i find out who was voted out tonight, pray god it was john seargeant - fun is well gone out of him now.

On a slightly different note, i am heartbroken laura white was voted out of X-factor :(:(

The pro dance on Sunday was great, mostly because it featured one of my favourite songs: A Nightingale Sang on Berkeley Square.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,461 ✭✭✭Queen-Mise

any idea when the dancers are going to be doing the Argentine tango, and how far from two dances a night are we.

what do people think of rachel stevens???

Its now Page 8 of this Thread, & yet no one has even mentioned 'Christine Bleakley'

Has the norn Ireland girl been erased from people consciousness ?

    Cherie Lunghi to win - 'she's a Natural' and she's 56 for God's sake :)

Doesn't matter to me where Christine's from - I just can't stand her forced bubbly fakeness. I do want Cherie to win. She makes some nice coffee :pac: :pac:

i think camelot is right though. never mind jodie being a dark horse. i think christine is it. if she nails all the different elements & gets it all together, which she may very well do - I could see her in the final with tom & lisa.

I don't think Cherie is going to make the final, the latin is going to keep letting her down. I wonder will the latin side also be an achilles heel for austin too.

either way tom chambers to win

Ohhhhh, i like Chrisitne! If Brian hadn't shown up i'd be rooting for Christine and Matthew from the start. She comes across as genuine and nice and i like her on the ONE show.

I'm not keen on her at all. She seems very sweet, but beyond being sweet and smiley, she doesn't seem to have much of a personality. At least not one that comes through when she's dancing. I don't think Vincent is doing her any favours either. The way he keeps pawing at her is just irritating and my growing dislike for him means I'll be quite glad when they get voted off.

I still like Cherie and James, although she comes across as a bit cold sometimes. She is a pretty amazing dancer though, when she gets a dance that suits her, and I love the chemistry between them. Their rumba is the only dance this season that has really moved me.

I like Austin and Erin as well. And I love Jodie and Ian! I actually loved their samba because she genuinely seemed to be having a blast during it.

Totally agree, there has been some really good dancing this year but so far that has been the only performance that has stunned me to silence.... I thought it was sensational.

I'm still rooting for Jodie, but I also hope Christine continues this improvement cos she's my second favourite lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,461 ✭✭✭Queen-Mise

anyone see ITT this week. Rachel & Vincent's rumba looks sensational. Lisa also looks to be doing a kick ass samba - they are doing samba rolls in it. john seargeant doing the american smooth with lifts....

the question is, if he gets through, who is going. my money would have to be on jodie/christine/.

Craig & brian fortuna had the best fight on itt wed night about john sergeant - it was class, brian is well able to hold his own.

Love the samba rolls - best bit of the dance. Brian would make an excellnt judge, don't you think? give craig a run for his money.

did anyone see ITT last night - it was so cute. there had been a auction on radio 2 for two people to get the strictly experience. the winning bid was £14k. the two girls trained with brian fortuna & darren bennett, and did an american smooth on ITT. No jealously here at all on my part :D:D

i can't wait to see rachel's rumba, it looks so incredible

Rachel and Vincent SEXY - they make a really cute couple

He is enjoying being paired with Rachel this season - look on Flavia

I really hope John is eliminated this week

    Austin to win :)

Tom Chambers is starting to annoy me

    What a result last night!!
Can't believe John is still in the show. I'm glad Cherie went instead of Lisa but John ahould be gone by now. We've had fun watching him but it's starting to wear a bit thin. If he stays beyond next week that will be a JOKE.

    Yes
Cherie Lunghi has become the ninth contestant to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing.

The actress and her dance partner James Jordan were voted off after facing Lisa Snowdon and Brendan Cole in the final showdown. It was the first time that either couple had been in the bottom two.

Lunghi was sent home despite winning praise from the judges for her performance of the Cha Cha Cha in last night's show.

"You played it well - you can do Latin, you can do Cha Cha, keep it going that way. I loved it," Bruno Tonioli explained.

Craig Revel Horwood added: "I would have liked to have seen a little bit more punctuation in that routine. However, you were magnificent to watch and I do believe that you are beginning to conquer Latin."

The judges' vote saw Snowdon and Cole being backed by Horwood, Arlene Phillips and Len Goodman. Tonioli was the only panel member to vote in favour of Lunghi and Jordan.

Speaking afterwards, Lunghi revealed: "It has been great, such a wonderful experience and great fun. It's been a huge learning curve and I wouldn't have missed it for the world."

Jordan added: "I think Cherie had a lot more to show. This is supposed to be a dance contest... please, please, people at home vote for the dancing."

How is John still there

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,008 ✭✭✭Bijoux

I know... He's lovable and all, but he's just a crap dancer...and yes he's funny but it's a dance contest!

(Now in fairness, I wouldnt be as píssed off if Christine had gone)
Having LIsa and Cherie in the danceoff was ridiculous.

    Cherie Out

Outrageous, I am annoyed > this is a travisty, I know John Seargent is everybody's Lovable Uncle, but . . .

Cherie Lunghi was one of the favourites for Gode's sake, & she has legs to die for!

Whichever way you look at it, Cherie was far better than poor old John.

    Christine to Win :)

The result will be posted on the digital spy forums on Saturday nights usually between 10-11pm by someone who has a contact working in the BBC studios or occasionally by others who have a friend/family member who got tickets to the show. I always find out on Saturday night- can't wait till Sunday!!

John to go next week pleeease!!!

I am not fan of Cherie, but still cannot believe that she's gone. John is still there,, he cannot dance...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,461 ✭✭✭Queen-Mise

Is the john situation this year not the same as the gmtv presenter & rugby player last year, both arguably were still in way past their ability. I don't mind John being in at all - it may get more painful though as the weeks go on.
I think though what is difference this year, is that the quality of the dancers are far better this year than last. Realistically 6 out of the 7 that are left could win the contest, which highlights john even worse.

On Cherie, not upset at all that she is gone, for some reason never liked her. And i don't think she was ever going to get a handle on the Latin.

and i am still blown away by Rachel's performance, absolutely incredible.

what did any of ye think of the Bruce & Anton performance...

apologies for lack of names, brain is blank

Never took to Cherie either, a bit of a cold fish and I'm not a fan of James so I'm not too upset she's gone.
Kate Garraway and Kenny Logan were both gone at this stage last year so John is outlasting them both. (Kate gone week 7 and Kenny in week 9.)
I hope John goes next week or else we'll start losing some really good people soon.

Really gutted about Cherie. She was great to watch, and damn, for a 56 year old woman she really gave the young ones something to think about! Did you see her pins in that dress? I think we can all only hope to look as good when we are the same age.

Please please please if you are posting anything in relation to the results before it's announced on BBC use the spoiler covering things.

Well I used spoiler tags. Then a few hours after the show was broadcast on BBC1 and the result had been announced I edited my post and removed them as they were no longer necessary as explained in the 'reason for edit' section.
Personally I would never give any hint of the result before it's been shown without making sure it's 'spoiler-ed' as I would not wish anyone to have the Sunday show inadvertently spoiled for them. :)

on the kenny logan and the other one last year. this year it is the show is two weeks longer. so would that not mean that john seargent is on as long as kenny logan now....

Former political journalist John Sergeant has decided to pull out of the BBC One show Strictly Come Dancing.

The 64-year-old has received strong support from the public since the show started, but the judges have been critical of his dancing.

In a statement, he said: "The trouble is that there is now a real danger that I might win the competition. Even for me that would be a joke too far."

It has been announced he will return on Saturday's show for a final dance.
Strictly judge Arlene Phillips said: "I'm always sad if a contestant leaves of choice, because you are always expecting to let the public vote them in or out - but John is his own person and he has his own reasons for doing this.

It was always my intention to have fun on the show and I was hoping to stay in as long as possiblee

When asked if she felt responsible for his departure, she said: "Not really. If you look back, we've actually been quite nice on this programme."

Phillips pointed out it was not been the first time a weak dancer had been backed by the public over the professionals.

And she admitted Sergeant had provided many "funny, funny moments".

She added: "Last week's performance was an improved performance. There wasn't a judge who didn't say that."

In his statement, Sergeant, who was partnered with Russian dancer Kristina Rihanoff said: "I am sorry to say I have decided to leave Strictly Come Dancing.

"It was always my intention to have fun on the show and I was hoping to stay in as long as possible."

The former journalist said he would like "thank Kristina and all those viewers who have been rooting for me through the series".

this means the dance competition on proper from this weekend. are they still going to eliminate someone on sat/sun

I would argue yes for the rugby player logan (first name gone), its only that this year the competition is 2 weeks longer, it seems as though john has gotten further - but then logan & or the girl from gmtv were a little bit better ;)
