There is a grind school called Cork Leaving Cert College on South Terrace. I was wondering where the name came from.

cro.ie says
There was a company called Mel Industries Ltd
at that address 08/09/1947 - 31/07/1987

THe name rings a bell, sounds like some respectable company that everyone (above my age) might have heard of because in a display case in AIB 66 Sth Mall, there is some yellowing headed paper from that company with some quaint typed words.

Can anyone shed any light on what Mel Industries Ltd did, and what happened to their people?
