    Looking nice.
Reducing the cost of texts from 29c to 11c is pretty nice as is per second charging.

Some tariffs must be very cheap for texts if 29c is 10 times the normal cost of texts. Might influence our operators to reduce their prices... maybe.....

Cant beat cabbage when roaming on meteor tho.. 2c for about 8 or 9 texts.. :D

Good stuff. She should also look at the likes of O2 who charge excessive rates for texts to other EU countries even when at home.

Some regulation of data is now badly needed.

Amen! She has at least threatened that that's coming soon, but I don't know if she's officially looking at that yet.

    plusity one to that.

Use 10GB of data in a month with meteor and it will cost you in the region of €20,000
They will more than likely cut you off before you run up that sort of bill, but the fact that in theory 10GB will cost that much money is unreal..

But the (only) advantage with o2 is that you can send a free webtext to anywhere in the world. AFAIK none of the other networks can match that.

If approved by member states and the European Parliament, the cap would take effect on 1 July, 2009 and would exclude sales tax.

Ah jasus .. that's years away! Hopefully the networks will try implement a few months beforehand to try and better each other though !
