in shankill where the supervalue used to be? It closed down over a year ago, and as of typing nothing has happened.

i really liked that facility there and to see it just sitting there doing nothing is getting to me.

Superquinn bought the site with the intention of building a shop + apartments but haven't yet applied for permission.

The chemist there also will not give up the lease so that is probably why no permission has been sought

A bit dated but From Shankillmatters.com

    SHORT TERM PLANS

[As Supervalu are closing on Friday 17th August 2007 and the Corbawn Tavern closing at the end of the month most of the shopping centre will be empty. They have acquired 13 of the 16 units. We have been assured that the whole property will have a heavy security presence. Superquinn don’t want any anti-social behaviour occurring here. They are going to be “responsible landlords” for the site both in the short and long term.
We felt reassured that Superquinn will have a presence / security guards on site making sure that no trouble can be initiated.

The plans for the site will probably, depending on some uncertain details, to demolish the existing building in its entirety and rebuild a more aesthetically pleasing building. This will consist of an underground car park, a supermarket on ground floor with possibly a coffee shop and other small units and apartments on the higher floors. They envisage up to 4 floors above the supermarket. The new supermarket will be comparable in size and shop content to the Lucan or Blanchardstown shops. Scott Tallon Walker are the architects for the new building and they are in talks with the Planners at present. The whole project will take 2/3 years including the planning and construction.

Superquinn will keep in touch with the SCA and when they have plans / a visual of the new supermarket they will send them to us so that it can published in SCAN to let the community know what the new premises will look like.
In the new supermarket there will be a commuity notice board for all the people of Shankill to avail of. We also requested of Superquinn the use of accommodation in the new shopping centre for SCAN magazine which was agreed to.

I think its just the chemist left now, so they are up to 15 of 16?
