Just making sure, the labs tomorow morning are in angier street right?

I'm not sure...i heard the A stood for annex building. But then it would make sense for A to be for Angier too.

I heard the blank ones like 1-005 and 1-006 are angier...but it could be the other way around.

So does anyone know for defs?

    A 1-016/A 3-006/A 3-008

Ok A is for Annex. 1-016 is First Floor in Annex, Room 116.
A-3-006 is Third Floor in Annex. Room 306.
then obviously A 3-008 being beside Room 306!

Aungier is something like this on the timetable:
    A 1-016/1-005/1-006

A 1-016(annex building) and then the 1-005 and 1-006 are labs in Aungier Street!

ye 1005 and 1006 are Aungier.Walk in the main door turn right straight down still ya see the stairs on your right go up one floor to right again and walk around the building till you find it.

Does anyone know where I can get a download for the Borland C++ compiler?

Or are they going to give us a disc or something for it?

I just want it now because the versions of it I found online are crap

very outdated though and isn't supported anymore :p

codeblocks is the dogs dangly bits, but may be a bit complicated for first years and beginners.
http://www.codeblocks.org/downloads/5 go nuts with it, download the package that includes mingw if you're on windows and want to compile C source code.

you honestly can't beat <INSERT_TEXT_EDITOR_OF_CHOICE_HERE> + gcc for compilation and command line for executing. especially when you are just learning how to program and not how to use an IDE.

I advise you to use a more up to date compiler, as the borland 'bc.cmd'
compiler is out of date by at least 15 years now.

If you still don't care, here is a link for you:

Naikon's link works fine but you should also be able to find it on the student distrib drive where you can save a copy to your memory stick. Also it apparently has to reside on the top root level of your C:\ drive to work (or so we were told back then)

You could save yourself a bit of hassle and just use BCC to be honest. Im pretty sure the college gives them out for free and imo its as good as any compiler to start on. Plus it saves you the hassle of reconfiguring your code to compile with BCC come assignment time.

You can trust me, im a lvl 16 internet user.

Programming is great but you cant beat art sloan for soundest prof.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 31 LeotCol

I think that programming would be my favourite so far. Haskell labs are ok cos I can get em done really quick, but the lectures are a bit tiring.

    No.

DIT should just set up a public FTP server and **** everything onto that.
Every man for himself! Would be more usable too.
