    Why don't we have student eMail addresses?? Even one of my lecturers admitted today that it was embarrassing...

    I think only modern, hip courses like meeja and graphic design get those. i'm not really bovvered though. been there 4 years and i still don't have one

    Eh, the email system is dodgy as hell anyway, most of last year it was down or failed to deliver anything. All our lecturers just took our personal emails and used those instead. The downside of this is that I'm still getting emails about random jobs and stuff from them!

    I always thought the whole college got email addresses :/ strange!

    We had one... I think it was (username)@mcom.cit.ie I could email my gmail account from it, but I couldn't email to it :rolleyes:

    Same as myself, never received mail from lecturers so they took our personal addresses instead. Their own email wasn't working at times @cit.ie

    Our class (Multimedia 1) were given gmail cit accounts today. We are testing them or something. They want to bring them out for the whole college by next semester or something. Dunno really what the story is.

    I think Trinity uses Gmail too. It certainly is a much better system than bloody webmail.

    well using gmail is really the lazy way out for them isn't it. but at least gmail supports imap and pop3

    its like they cant do anything themselves. they have to contract out everything

    Yeah my boyfriend goes there and they use gmail. The amount of spam they get is crazy though!

    tbh i don't really care that much that we don't have one if its as bad as everyone is saying. It is kinda a handy to get the word out on things about the college and all but that about it. i never used it for anything else when i was in other colleges

    ya i can't say i ever used mine either. we had em here when i was in 1st year and used it once.

    It will be sooner than semester 2. I heard that all students will be getting a google email address on/after 10th November
