Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am just working on my timetable and have a few questions regarding some modules. Is there someone who has done the same modules already and can tell me something about them or recommend them? (GE207 Introduction to specialised translation, GE501 german general translation and GE502 German economic translation - web based). Why is the GE207 on a lower level than 501, since it is specialised and the other one general??? What does "web-based" (GE502) mean and is this course on a very high level?

Another question: I have to decide between these 2 modules: EN327 Language in use1 and EN325 The languages of Ireland past and present. Which one should I pick?????

Thank you soooooo veeeeery much!!! :o

AFAIK, GE207 would be for second years (that's why the code bgins with 2) and the GE501 and 502 are for fifth years, i.e. Masters students. So presumably GE207 is easier than the other two modules.
Web-based means that there are no (or very few) lectures; the lecturer makes the texts available on the internet and you submit your work via e-mail or on Moodle.
    Hope this helps.
    :)

Thanks! I first presumed, that a lecture which is "general" would be on a lower level...I dont understand why you specialise in the second year and than do general in the last year.
Have you done any of those modules? Have you been sorry for chosing one fo them?:) What experience did you make? Thank you so much for replying!

Sorry, I haven't done any of those modules so can't tell you anything about them.
