Is it just me or is Obama trouncing McCain?

    Watching it on Sky News

Obama sounds presidential; McCain sounding like a legislator

McCain sounds weak and frail while Obama sounding like someone who is preparing to rule the country

How many times is McCain going to mention Petraeus?

About as much as he is going to mention how he's not Miss Congeniality.

McCain mentions his braclet again - FFS

Fair play to Obama for nailing him on it.

I could do without the two of them stuttering through pre-rehearsed sob stories about bracelets.

I agree with this but I'd say this is a calculated strategy to look more presidential.

I can understand where you are coming from but I think this debate is all about perceptions. It would be nice to see him land a punch or two but I do think it is a stategy to convince the undecided that he is a legitmate presidental candidate. He is clearly ahead of points and McCain doesn't seem to have landed many hits - (probably won that one on Israel slightly)

The key issue in this debate for Obama is to show he can go toe-to-toe with with McCain on foreign relation issues (where McCain would probably have been seen to have the greater experience) and he seems to have done so very well. Most Americans don't care about the actual detail- just to know its in safe hands

Obama's use of "when I am president" etc seems to be pushing the presidental legitimacy idea.

McCain and his Putin = KGB might play well with his core older voters but the middle ground is going to be thinking if McCain thinks Putin=KGB=communist it's not a big link Putin =Vietnamese who tourtured me in McCain's head which is not what anyone wants. Wandering into paranoid delusional Commies under the bed territority in my opinion. Obama's response on this seems much "saner" and less based in personal grudges.

McCain: Myself and (someone) sat down and put together a commission to find out what happened on 9 11... and we fixed it!

That'll go down great on the conspiracy forum board.
