    We have had this for over eight years now and it's started to get a bit out of control. We really really like it and wondered if we could take a cutting and start a couple of new ones.
    It probably needs re-potting but it's big enough for us as it is, but it has started to get lanky and drooping when it was nice and strong before and a great shape.

    If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them.

    kleefarr, your houseplant is a dragon tree or Dracaena
    To propagate it google "Air Layering"

    Irish Gardener,

    Another question if you don't mind.

    I saw another post of yours regarding another dragon tree, where you said that if the stems were getting too long you could cut them to the desired length and new leaves would start growing.

    I'm just wondering if this would be a more suitable approach for me.
