Just wondering is there any Irish website that supplies the motor trade in Ireland or for DIY purchasers??? Stuff like service kits, brake pads, shocks, etc??? Also, does anyone know of motor factors in Ireland who sell through their website???

I don't think there is any really proper sites, maybe something to look into!!!
I see that micks garages comes up all the time but the site is utter sh!te and selection is crap. Most parts can be ordered from the Uk to your door anyway, pretty quick and cheaper than over here.

I got a window regulator (incl motor) from micksgarage, was 1/3 the price of the equivalent part from a main dealer. Arrived the day after I ordered it. I agree that the selection on the website is generally poor.

Last time I looked for car parts on ebay.ie there weren't many Irish based sellers. If you are looking to start up something maybe you could look at setting up an ebay shop then maybe expand from there into a full website.

Also you could possibly sell services on ebay depending on your skills. Eg there is an ebay seller in the UK that specialises in repairing climate control displays from BMWs and Renault Lagunas. The repairs generally involve a bit of soldering and replacing a resistor or two. He charges around 40 quid, you send him the unit and he sends it back fixed. If you go to a main dealer you'll be charged hundreds of quid because they will only replace the units rather than repair them. I'm not saying you should get into climate control repair but it might give you an idea for something similar.

Came across www.autoworlddirect.ie recently for ICE. Prices seem alright for the average customer. Mayhaps they'd do a deal for the motor trade?

A new company on the block is Quality Car Parts. www.qcp.ie. The website is not up and running yet but they are selling to the trade and the public from Metro Business Park in Swords. They say that they have a huge stock of only quality parts and will deliver within 1 hour to the trade in North Dublin if thats any use.
