Can anyone reccomend a good reasonable price Digital camcorder

    Hi all,

    Looking into Digital camcorders for a friend. Does anyone have any recommendations?

    What is best - miniDV, HDD or the straight-to-DVD type?

    The ones I've been looking at are the JVC GZ-MG330, a Sony DCR-DVD110, or the Canon MD235.

    Are the small portable SANYO Xacti Digital Movie CG-9 Camcorder any good?
    My friend is off to Oz for a year and wants something to capture the trip. Portable would be really good but I expect these are better at digital stills than video since they only do VGA.....
