Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You can get a 64-bit version of MySQL - database servers are one of the few things that make good use of 64-bit systems. All the 32 bit stuff will work fine on 64 anyway.

I would go with 64-bit if it was me.

Not quite all 32 bit stuff will work on 64 bit, some of the dot net stuff has problems if you try to run ASP.NET 32 bit and 64 bit apps at the same time, for example. (And there's still no MS Group Policy Management Console for 2003 x64, the lazy feckers ).

2008 IIS has nice features for easily restricting who can access your site.
If it was me I'd go with 64bit 2008. But if you don't want to deal with any hassle at all, the 32 bit version might be a smidgen less problematic.

win2k8 will also happily run on machines with a low amount of RAM (it'll go down to 512mb if necessary).
