Best size shortboard?

been surfing a hybrid 7'6 board for two years now and can go down the line and get the basic moves etc, wanna move on to a shortboard. Im 6ft and weigh 12st. I find boards around 6'3 are far to short for me still. Anyone have ideas on what size shortboard I should be lookin at?

Um if a 6'3 board is too short for you, then why havent you looked at a 6'6/ 6'8? That would be the most logical step.
