Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Home Office Build

I'm thinking about getting our box room (roughly 8ft by 6ft) converted into a home office, and I'm just looking for a bit of advice as to what I could get for my money, and even what tradesmen I should be looking for.

Basically, I want to get a shelving unit built into one of the walls, I've a load of DVDs, books and CDs so I want to be able to store them and incorporate a desk, with my xbox/tv on one side and my mac on the other. It'd also be great to get a couple of extra power points, but I could live without that.

So, would anyone have any suggestion for a company that could do that - I'm in Swords - or a carpenter/joiner/whatever that's done this kind of thing before? I'm in Swords. How much do you reckon something like that would cost to do - couple of hundred, couple of grand maybe?

    thanks a mill.

It would be an ideal job for some guy who works on his own and could do it maybe even over a day or so at the weekend.

Depending on the type of shelving you intend to use and what sort of design you need for it it could cost you anything from €500 - €1000. Thats only a guess now. I wouldnt be familiar with prices around the Dublin area.

Ask around some family and friends who got some joinery work done and they may be able to point you in the right direction.

Someone from the Swords area may see this thread and PM you a name perhaps.

thanks muffler - I've put an ad on adverts as well so fingers crossed. I'm looking for a joiner yeah? Wasn't sure what the difference was between a joiner and a carpenter.
