Iphone on pre pay!

I'm thinking about buying an Iphone and I want to use it on some networks pre-pay. Is this at all possible, keeping in mind I don't have a fortune to hand out on data charges? Or will it end up costing me an arm and a leg!?

Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

afaik you cant buy an unlocked iphone in ireland, o2 only sell them with a contract.
You could sign up for the contract, unlock the phone and use it with a different network but you would still have to pay o2 so thats pointless unless you are desperate.
i dont think that you can buy them unlocked in the states anymore either.
you can get them on ebay without a contract so thats probably your best bet.

You can buy 2G iphones unlocked on adverts.ie and probably pretty cheap at this stage. You cant get an unlocked 3G version yet, but to be honest they're not that much better.

It wont cost too much on prepay, just the usual prices for text and voice and if you want to use the 2G network connection its a euro per day (up to a max of 50mb - at least on vodafone)

thanks for the advice lads! until i know how much i will be spending using the browser while on credit i wont move on it though

and i cant exactly walk into an 02 shop and ask how much it would be to run the browser on an unlocked phone using pre-pay! lol
