after using this for a while now, I reallly want the Last poster bit back.. it's headwrecking not knowing if I'm going to be reading something sensible or inane drivel.

I like it. I did like having the last poster listed but it's not that important. I really like the clouds! I'm such a girl.

i know it's been said 100's of times on this thread but the last poster thing was really handy.

if it was to be taken out i think the fixing the column widths for the other data so that extra long thread titles could be expanded more would be nice. see image.

surely there must be a way to auto adjust the columns of the table (depending on resolution) so that there's not so much wasted space in each column?

liking the clouds though.

Here's a suggestion..

What about reducing out the number of new posts shown on the front page to 24 - 25 (from 30 I think)? Then the Adverts.ie table (in center) will be aligned with the Social.ie table on the left.

Everything will be nice and symmetrical then.. ya dig?!

I dont use the front page very much, but ill give my few cents anyway.

I like the change, its refreshing and different. A lot better then the old one.

- I dont like is it doesnt fit the whole page and cover other areas such as the user bar/navigation.
- The footer is far to wide.
- Advertisement is massive - bit to much.
- Team page needs updating with new style (and hey, your name should be down on it!)

- Search is handy, very funky. Nice and neat.
- The clouds are interesting, bit odd, but nothing to create a fuss about. I think it ads a nice touch.
- Nicely sorted Recent Updates/Posts etc. I wouldnt consider the "Last Poster" essential tbh, but I can see the points being made.
- Boards.ie events rocks. Where is it be pulled from?

Yeah, I'd agree with this. And also say the Forum column could be narrowed.

Don't really like it.... looks far more like a social networking site (bebo etc) now, more so than for my liking tbh, but...

New recent adverts positioning is good, I like that. Filter is also brilliant. Kudos.

Not too fond of the google search / advertisement areas. Mainly because the google ads are big and white and just look crappy.. but generating income I guess..Can't be so bad! And loss of poster names on recent posts...Why?
One other thing - Navbar is still bland, so looks a bit...crappish with the new bg..

Please bring back the last poster column?

The background is ok, but if i am a new user and i have been recommended to come to this website, im not so sure i'd find it useful, Everything is so clickable and interactive i'd be a little bit lost!

Nice job! The only things I'm not so keen on (and I'm probably duplicating what has been said in this thread but my internet connection isn't great so I haven't read the thread) are:

It looks quite cluttered now. Editing the boards dudes could simplify things. Having the subscribers/forum posts/wiki on the right and the dudes on the left for email/team/adsales just makes things look more complicated. How about a redesign of the dudes to make the images a tad smaller with larger text that is more obvious to the subject matter? And put them all on the left hand side.

And the bar behind the dropdown menu is too high, it looks like a firefox bookmark bar and can be missed Or maybe if it was a blue colour?

Is it possible to have some usercp options on the front page? So if you sign up/login you can add some minor tweaks like last poster and maybe base some stuff on screen res? At 1680x1050 There seems to be a lot of empty space after thread titles and stuff.

On that note cant the site recognise the browser and screen res? Thus maybe taking that into account?

I am not very computer smart so apologise if it comes across nonsensical.

There seems to be a lot of posters, who quite possibly are female who like the clouds. It probably matches their curtains.

Might as well just go for a Powder Puff Girls skin.

The right column items should have a fixed width. As it is now if page loads slowly (most of the time for me) the inner content that is forcing their width is loading after the page partially renders. This leaves the content jumping all over the page for me which is a tad annoying. The list of posts takes up the full page and is then pushed left by the adverts and events, then the search box pushes them down a bit as it enlarges.

Edit: I know it happens on the old layout too but that page loads faster and jumps around a lot less so it was more bearable.

That's the only thing I don't like about it. Miss being able to see who the last poster was!
