Microsoft Access Project Problem

I have an access project that connects to a sql database. I have a subform which allows users to enter data. On most pcs in the office this is not a problem but on some pcs (and I can't find a common theme) the system just hangs when I go to put in data. It doesn't freeze as it will allow me to close the form.
Even stranger is if I open the subform on its own (not through the main form) it will display all the records (approx 70K) and allow me to enter new records
Any help would be much appreciated.0
