I expected a salesfigure similar to this, its high because there was a lot of expectation (and then some from me alone :D ) but a fair few people felt burned by AoC's release and don't buy MMO's on release anymore, instead waiting for the necessary bug fixes.

Now we can only hope the numbers increase over the coming months as WAR is a great game but needs tweaking and a good community.

In fairness, any reasonably well designed and hyped MMO will out-do the previous, as people attempt to jump on the bandwagon and pick up the next great MMO from launch.

It's a sad state of affairs, but it is very much true, imho.

What does this mean for Warhammer? Very little. It's all about the first milestone; 3 months. If you can keep the majority of players playing, while you get your **** together, then you have a winner on your hand.

Thus far, WAR is doing a pretty good job of that and so, I'd tend to agree with the OP. Expect a dent in WoW in the coming months, will make things bloody interesting, if nothing else :D

Well for those of us especially that enjoy the pvp aspects of Wow, WaR will win hands down when compared to it. I've been playing the alpha/beta of Wotlk since it came out and have already lost interest. There is nothing new in wotlk for me pvp wise to keep me playing wow. Blizzard are refusing to listen to their bulk of pvp base of players and insistent on pushing Arena as their view on pvp.
If GOA in Europe and Mythic in US can sort out the problems with queues (big problem!) and of course the bugs with certain classes and so forth (all small things that can and I'm sure will be sorted) then really, for anyone that enjoys pvp, WaR will win it all hands down, no competition at all from Wow in that regards, none !

PvP in Wow will more or less die once Wotlk hits, might be fine for a month or so after the expansion hits due to sheer numbers but that's it, from there on it's dead in the water when compared to WaR.

Yep 500K sounds like the average queue length at 7pm on Karak Azgul.

Depends, I haven't had a queue yet on Dragon Mount.

Its a good start but the key is end game content. People will have fun levelling and exploring but if there is nothing to do once you hit 40 then the game will die on its arse, or "Failcom style" as it shall hereby be known as :pac:

warhammer seems ok, ive not been as drawn to it as i have been to wow, and as such got alittle bored after like... 2 hours. Gonna give it a proper go over the weekend tho, but really.... its never in a million years gonna take over wow, or even dent wow's continued success, if you think otherwise... stop dreaming.

Im not a big pvp'er but i enjoy it more in war. wow wins in pve hands down. So its just down to what you prefer really

I gotta say in trying Aoc from the launch and trying WAR from launch that WAR is far more polished and fun and easier to get into than Aoc ever was.

Why? Welll u can just jump into the PVP Games no matter your level and there generally good fun.

Well im only Level 10 in WAR but i went all the way to 80 in Aoc and that was a painful horrable experience ill never do again.

I hit 65 in AOC, I can't remember any Pvp. I remember hearing about the much vaunted pvp system that was not included in the game but was advertised.

lol i know ur being sarcastic but anyone who hit level 80 just seemed to dissapear or as i did level another toon if you where PVE of course. I would guess PVP is more fun?

Not so much sarcastic as just (trying) to be funny. :pac:

I didn't play, I let my friend try it out first and decided easily enough not to bother. It was my turn to try out when WAR was released. Lucky me!

I've played MMO's since EQ and Ultima online (more the first then the second), through WOW and others and I have to say, I find War refreshingly different. I keep trying to tell people that its not really WOW.

Its early days but I think its going to work nicely in the future though as was said above, the end game content is the crucial part but with all the keeps and castles around I think it will rock.

I think the PvE is actually more FUN then WOW too, and I was a PVE specialist in WOW. I just like the set pieces and PQ's like the beach landings in the elven area, or the Dwarven pitched battles with the orcs.... ok they are scripted but often act smarter then humans :)

    DeV.
