Can i install MySQL and PHP on a normal PC for testing/learning

    Hi all,

    I'm trying to learn some basics PHP/MySQL for some work things.

    Before i start i'm wonderind if they will install on my PC so i dont have to upload to the net all the time.

    I like WOS Portable, which now seems to have changed it's name to MoWeS Portable

    Nothing is actually installed on your PC as it is designed to be portable, so no unnecessary background processes like Apache or MySQL will be running, and will only run when you want to do some testing.

    I've been using PortableApps which can be installed onto a USB memory stick.

    Another vote for WAMP here. It's definitely proven to be far easier than installing Apache, PHP, MySQL, PHP MyAdmin etc seperately for me!
