So who's going after Marco Pantani's record on the Alpe d'Huez? 37 minutes 35 seconds. Blorg? Niceonetom?

As far as I know its TinyEx, blorg, Caroline ie, niceonetom and emty. Pics are promised, though there was talk of a contingency photo op at the top involving going up in a car and then staying on the batter for a few days.

But I'm sure that was just talk.

    Lucky divvils.

That reminds me. Wasn't there some lad who claimed here a while back that he did the Alpe in half an hour and then said he was in a bus at the time?

    Have a great time.
Did they post up a rough route of where they'll be going anywhere?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,676 ✭✭✭Gavin

They've got so much gps and technology, at least one of em should be uploading regular gps co-ordinates to some mapping site for us to track !

    Have fun !

All I know is that judging by the way he was going on Saturday, I wouldn't fancy chasing Blorg up the Galibier.

Just got word from the boardsies, sipping wine at the top of the Alpe d'huez.

It looks cold. Not that that's any comfort to any of us right now...:(

Who else but the mighty blorg? He finished first, and the rest within thirty minutes. I'm guessing emty and niceonetom weren't far behind blorg.

Just got a message to say it was snowing outside while they were having lunch.

blorg also said 'pressing onward and upward'. But aren't they at the top already?

    What now, flying?

Latest update from TinyExplosions. He and Caroline called it a day after the Alpe d'Huez because of the snow, but the other three went on and did three more climbs while it was snowing. Niceonetom crashed but "only a little bit", whatever that means.

This thread being festooned with ads for Alpe d'Huez which promise snow "or your money back"!
